OUR Approach
Our approach to wildlife photography makes it possible to offer safaris at a competitive price and to concentrate on what we love – photography. We offer:
- Specially modified and open vehicles for low-angle photography that is only for your or your group.
- Full-day safaris to capture the best of wildlife behaviour.
- Highly-skilled and experienced Maasai guides/drivers with local knowledge and network
- Comfortable all-inclusive accommodation with good food.
- A focus on photography with no unnecessary costs and flexible in terms of days on safari and time of year to visit.
MLIMA | Maasai Mara
The Maasai Mara has always been the heart and soul of our photography, and it remains the base of our operations.
It’s where our journey began, when John built MLIMA ten years ago. Over the years, we’ve expanded our photo safaris to cover more of Kenya’s diverse wildlife, from Super Tuskers in Amboseli to Black Leopard in Laikipia.
Most of our Kenya tours start or end in the Mara. These include:
- all-inclusive accommodation
- full day game drives with professional guide
- park fees (currently $200 per day during high season)
Price does not include:
- international flights
- tips and gratuitues
- insurance
CUSTOMISED VEHICLES
Understanding the unique needs of photographers, our safari vehicles are specially modified to enhance the photographic experience.
Features include:
- dedicated spaces to accommodate camera equipment
- open-sided designs provide clear lines of sight for capturing wildlife in action.
- built-in mounts ensure stability, allowing for sharp images even in dynamic environments.
Expert Guides
Our team comprises seasoned professionals with extensive experience in wildlife photography and guiding, working with professional photographers and film makers.
They offer:
- deep understanding of animal behaviour and movements to anticipate and position for the perfect shot.
- radio connection to a local network of Maasai guides to always allow us to know immediately what sightings are happening
- personal guidance on composition, exposure settings, and photographic techniques to capture the essence of wildlife behaviour while out in the field.
Flexible schedules
We understand that wildlife doesn’t adhere to a clock, and offer a vehicle and guide for full day adaptable safari timings, so we can start out for as long as needed to maximise photographic opportunities.
